What is the Human Resource Development?



Human Resource Development is one component of human resource management It always deals with the training and development of the employee in the organization.

As a result of the development of employees has become more prominent organizational practice, their insights should be developed from time to time to achieve organizational set objectives'

Human Resource Development (HRD) is also called Human Capital  Development in modern times. The word by word expression gives a more important role to play by employees in the present competitive business environment' Since HRD practitioners are primarily responsible for employees' development that they are in a challenging position to meet the changing needs of the organizations'

HRD define as; “What is the Human Resources Development Human Resources Development is the process of increasing the knowledge" skills and capacities of all the people in a society. In economic terms" it could be described as the accumulation of human capital and its effective investment in the development of an economy. In political terms, human resources development prepares people for adult participation in political processes" particularly as citizens in a democracy' From the social and cultural point of view" the development of human resources helps people to lead fuller and richer lives, less
bound by tradition. In Short, the processes of human resources development unlock the door to modernization. (Harbison, F. and Myers, C.A.1964)

The latest definition of HRD is that; “ Human Resources Development is a set of systematic and planned activities designed by an organization to provide its members with the opportunities to learn necessary skills to meet current and future job demands” (European Journal of Social Science – Volume 10, Number 4, 2009)

As defined above defining HRD may help to establish shared meanings can become tiresome' From these definitions" commonalities can be seen in the theoretical concept and purpose of HRD in that it provides human resources with learning and education to improve performance'

  1. As you said, HRD is the framework for helping employees develop their skills, knowledge, and abilities, which in turn improves an organization's effectiveness. The department of HR doing main role for the organization for this. In addition to the their rooting framework such as recruiting, hiring people, processing payroll, conductive disciplinary action , updating policies , etc.

  2. as per your explanation, Human Resources Development is the process of increasing the knowledge skills, and capacities of all the people in a society. But usually many peoples are not following the guidelines. They pay their attention to that time only. After that, they work on their practiced method. So the human resource manager should follow up with them regularly until their change.

  4. HRD is highly required to the company but still some employers not allocated funds for the same they think salary paying and profit maximizing as traditionaly. And some companies conduct training programme but not match to the work they do.specially this issues happening in Small and medium enterprise sector.

  6. Profit oriented organization mainly trying to minimize their cost, in my opinion IT,technical systems & technological development is most important to more than Human Resource Development. Because,if we use technological methods for cost center we can see exact result or out put, but if we use human resource for same task it depend on the employee.
