Methods of Training
There are different types of training according to meet the training needs of the organizations. According to the Agrawal, V. (2011) it is explained in relation to the insurance industry. Basically" it is categorized into four categories.
1. On the job training
2. Off the job training
3. Apprenticeship training
4. Job instruction training
1. On the job training (OJT)
The most frequently used method in organizations is on the job training' This method of training uses more knowledgeable" skilled, and experienced employees. OJT can be delivered in classrooms as well' This type of training often takes place at the workplace in an informal manner.
2. Off the job training
This is any form of training that takes place away from the immediate workplace- job training includes more general skills and knowledge useful for work" as well as job-specific training. Training may be provided by specialist trainers working for the organization or by an outside company hired to help with training' Off-the-job training is particularly effective for non-technical skills" as employees can use these across different areas of the company' It includes the following types; lectures, case study, conferences, role plays management games etc.
3. Apprenticeship training
Apprenticeship is an on-the-job training program for people who want to work in a skilled trade or occupation and includes learning new skills from skilled journeypersons. Apprenticeships are paid while gaining work experience, and their wages increase with their level of skill.
4. Job instruction training (JIT)
Job instruction training (JIT) is a logical outgrowth of job Hazard Analysis' It is a proven technique for teaching new skills and safe " healthful work habits faster and more effectively' All new employees and those transferred to new jobs should receive JIT. One of the first steps is trainer selection, preferably a supervisor or a skilled person within the department.

DeleteTraining is categorized according to the needs of the institution. These can be categorized as such, subject to period of job training in the field outside the organization. Skills can be developed through the knowledge provided through training methods.

Deleteit is more important to the identifying training gap and the profiles of the employees who needed training before selecting methods of training. It will make sure an effective delivery of T & D Program.
